I’ve been using MiniDV for the past 8 years, but our school just got a new Sony DCR-sr82 60gb HDD camera. The software that comes with it doesn’t work on my g5, or any mac for that matter. I am able to pull the files off though by attaching with the USB and mounting the camera.

When previewed (with QT) the images are INTERACED. Looks really bad on screen. I had dumped my first batch last week to TOAST and did a simple DVD, and the footage looks great on the TV. No sound on the previews, but it was on the DVD

Now I am trying to do some editing on FCP with these files, but they are interlaced really bad, have no sound, and after I try to DE-INTERLACE with FCP some of the frames give me that GREEN digitized trash.
Am I missing something?? I am so used to working from captured MiniDV that these files are driving me nuts!

The files so as MPEG-1 Movies (*.MPG)

Any thoughts?? Thanks for the help in advance!
