Sony “cookie cutter” Q
Hello again,
In trying the Vegas (Vegas Movie Studio 11 Platinum) “cookie cutter”, it has among various shapes, a square and a rectangle. The rectangle is horizontal (i.e. its longest side is horizontal.) Is there some magic which I have not understood, to make the rectangle vertical (i.e. its longest side to be vertical?)

Nope, the shapes are what they are and sometimes they fit what you are doing while other times they do not. You can change their size and position but not their orientation.

Yea, in Vegas Pro you have a Mask tool that allows you to draw any kind of mask. Unfortunately it’s not part of Movie Studio.

I tried a friend’s upgraded program, and the “mask” (in say the shape of a rectangle) left a faint trace of itself, which could not be removed – at least I could not figure out how to do it.John23GR

It depends on what other FX are in the chain and whether you apply it before or after the other FX. In Vegas Pro 12.0 you can even apply the mask to just the FX. It’s pretty powerful.
