Before I put the (NEW) Sonnet E4P PCIe card, the Sonnet 500P and the 5 x 500 Seagate SATA 2 drives on EBay, does anyone have any experience overcoming the following:

On a Quad G5 with a fresh erase and install of OSX 10.4.8, the Sonnet 500P allows one copy from the Quad to the 500P.
Any subsequent copies within the 500P lock the copy progress bar. The only way out of this is to reboot holding the power button.
It makes no difference if the Sonnet 500P RAID is created via Apple’s Disk Utility or via Soft Raid.
    I’ve tried changing SATA cables.
The 4EP cartd works flawlessly with a G-SATA 2 drive RAID.
The firmware in the 4EP is 2.3, the firmware in the port-multiplier chip in the 500P is the latest.

I have a similar setup, only on a Intel Pro, 550P/E4P/Pro 2.66 and not having your problem. The system is fast and dependable so far for me.

Do you have any other PCI cards in the system besides your graphics card?

In addition to the Sonnet 4EP, I have a Decklink Extreme and the stock Quad G5 video card.
