    Hi,

    I am working With AfterEffects 8.0.1.8. My videocard is nVidia 7600.

    Sometimes, when I start the program and open the file, is impossible to switch the Preview to OpenGL mods {Aways On, Interactive – both}. In this situation, in the window in “Edit > Preferences > Preview” there is written “No compatible OpenGL video card found” and is no way to rapair it.

    Sometimes {35%} this situation does not happend and fast OpenGL previews works.

    Sometime has helped the “System restoring”, but in truth no file was changed. In many cases the System restoring was useless.
    I tried also to backup some files {Program Files, Aplication Data, WINDOWS/System32, drivers},hidden files too, but also unnecessarily.

    The updating of card driver, uninstalling and reinstalling of AfterEffects I tried many times…

    Have You any idea about this really strange behaviour? I am affraid, that condition of my OpenGL depends on the dew point behind my winodw… :-}

    Thank You Zdenek

    the fact that it is inconsitent is pretty unusual…. you can usually live without opengl in ae and be quite happy, but if your card is listed as supported and your drivers and ae are up to date, it should work.

    i would inquire with adobe… if you don’t want to spend time on the support line, i would at least post on adobe’s ae forum. someone there may be able to direct you to a technote or workaround.
