    Hi there,

I am working on a documentary project which contains multiple formats in a single timeline. It has been work all weel and good until I try to render two spots in particular which will not render no matter what I do.

I am working in FCP 6 on an IMAC 3.06GHz machine with 4GB of Ram. The funny thing is everytime I go to render these two spots I get “Not enough memory” when I try to render. I asked several pro FCP users and they told me that this should be sufficient memory but really am starting to wondering what is going on.

We are having a screening this Friday and so I need to solve this problem ASAP.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Stumped and frustrated,
    Olga

    Dear Olga

How big is your project? When FCP project files get bigger than a few hundred MB they seem to become vulnerable to some form of database corruption. If this is a possibility in your case you should create a new project with just the final sequence you want to render and see if that works.

    cheers

    Llewelyn

    Hi Llewelyn,

I think you absolutely hit the nail on the head – as the project is bigger than I’ve seen before for a 90 minute film (over 500MB).

Thank you for the quick answer and be amazing,
    Olga
