Some BCC filters don’t like (use) alpha channels by default?

You would think a filter set that costs as much as this one does would kinda work easily, not for me it doesn’t.
I put the Glint filter on an Invigorator object, and it’s beautiful but it is ignoring the alpha channel. Screwing around with the Pixel Chooser is not helping, I wish that thing would just go away. Precomposing the Invigorator layer prior to adding the glints etc does not help. When I put AE resident glow filter and a few of the CC light filters on there is no problem. Trapcode’s Starglow filter works fine too. How the heck do you get this thing to work?
The answer to this has to be in the pixel chooser, although every reference to alpha channels in the manual ain’t helped yet. I don’t understand how the PC works.
NO, Unmult is not a satisfactory solution, this should work on it’s own.
