Solution to jittery motion of pans and text on Avids and or NTSC
Posted by 305artist on November 16, 2006 at 5:45 pmRender your project with Lower fields first and do 30 fps. I finally got smooth pans for broadcast. 🙂

November 16, 2006 at 6:37 pm…oh yeah, and import your footage as lower fields first in the Avid. Smooth as can be.

I was having a problem with the 29.97 frame rate…which is odd because that is NTSC native…but Avid handled the 30 fps with much better results.

November 16, 2006 at 8:00 pmThanks for the info, but I have to say that’s the first time I’ve seen someone have problems with it in the first place. You shouldn’t have to change the framerate. But lower fields is standard for the Avid codecs. I render out Quicktimes at 29.97 to the DS everyday with no problems.
