    Hey everybody

I am using the gradient wipe to transition from one shot to the next right to left, no gradient, softness at 98, inverted (so it goes right to left)

when i add it and preview it it looks fine, but when i render it i get this hard edge on the back, as if its only soft on the leading edge of the wipe? what gives? any ideas or comments?

    Bob,

Try putting a black slug on a layer below and see if that helps… Just a guess, but see if it works.

Make sure to render at the highest possible setting. If you are using a realtime render (meaning you have a colored bar above the transition) FCP may not be showing the entire effect but dumbs down to what it can play in realtime. This is common in certian situations and a change of render settings usually fixes it.

    Good Luck
