Soft focus on medium shot after getting critical focus
I have a DVX-100b and I just noticed on our most recent shoot that our subject looked like she was in soft focus when I framed her in a medium shot, even after zooming all the way in and getting critical focus. It looked like the area about five feet behind her was in sharper focus than she was.
Has anyone heard of or experienced a problem with focus on these cameras? The reason I as is that we also have a Sony V1U HDV camera that developed a back focus problem and we found out that it was a common problem with that camera model.

That’s called a back focus problem- you should have the camera serviced.
