June 11, 2012 at 9:29 pmSadly Shane’s sources seem to have been correct, feel free to point and laugh Shane, unless you’re as sad as the rest of us!

June 11, 2012 at 10:02 pmI think the fact that there’s no 8 core Mac Pro means that they’re trying to get rid of remaining inventory before they pull the plug

June 11, 2012 at 10:52 pmNo offense to Shane, but at this point I’d say he’s only mostly right.
While Apple didn’t announce a new Mac Pro, they did not announce the end of life of the Mac Pro. It’s still on their web site and you can still order one.
They also didn’t announce any new iMac’s either, if that helps anyone feel it’s not over yet.
So, I think Apple has to do one or the other before we can concede Shane to be completely right.
But, mostly right is greater than pretty right.

June 11, 2012 at 10:58 pmNot often you wake to find your late 2009 octo Nehalem MacPro is still cutting edge. I would like to thank Apple for keeping it that way as I still have to nurse another year out of it as I transition to my new PC system.
Only question remaining is when will Smoke port to Windows? Must be inevitable now.

June 11, 2012 at 11:14 pmHA HA! Sorta. I’m wondering if they will kill it. I mean, they updated the hardware to make it “Moutain Lion Ready” and did minor tweaks…and killing one model. It’s the most bizarre update I have ever seen from them. They put it on life support…but why? Newer ones in the pipe?
I didn’t want to be right. But this update is perplexing. because I was right…but….not right.
