How do you snap the beginning of a layer to a point in time?

I know how to snap it to 00;00;00;00 with ALT+HOME. But let’s say that I want the layer to start at 00;00;19;15. How to I get the layer to that point in time other than zooming in, moving the current time indicator to 00;00;19;15 and aligning the layer to that indicator?

the left-bracket key will align the start of the selected layer to wherever the playhead is. So move your playhead to 19:15 (if you don’t want to do this by hand, use the keyboard shortcut: command+G on the Mac or control+G on the PC and type “1915” then hit Enter), then hit the left-bracket key. The whole thing should take about 1-2 seconds.

FWIW the RIGHT bracket key will align the END of the selected layer to the playhead in a similar fashion.

    Hope this helps!

Excellent information — and the additional quick keys were a plus.

    Thanks.
