    i’m compressing ntsc sequence material to h264 in compressor. very, very slowly. any tips on speeding this up?

    Um, use an 8-core Mac, don’t compress to H.264, don’t use Compressor? 🙂
    H.264 is very slow to compress, and Compressor is slower at it than some other products.

    thanks man, i think i’ll try quicktime conversion for this; it’s just weird cause it isn’t just slow, it’s UNUSUALLY slow… i used to compress with my old g4 and even h264 seemed much faster than this. the piece is fully rendered in the timeline (and only 23 minutes long), but much of the source material is high-res photos and a LOT of titles from livetype. could the nature of the source material be affecting the compression rate too?
