SmoothKit version 2 released
Hey all,
Just wanted to let you know that we’ve released SmoothKit version 2 today. SmoothKit is a blurring filter set that combines user-directed controls and feature-sensitive methods.
In case you don’t want to read all the mumbo-jumbo below, we’ve put up our first screencasts showing SmoothKit in use to try and make it clearer why you’d want this toolset. The screencasts are here: https://www.revisionfx.com/products/smoothkit/support/

What’s cool and new in 2.0?
- ability to control blurring directions by using AE’s and combustion’s splines
- new depth-of-field filter that blurs using depth maps from 3D systems
- floating point support in AE 7.0 and later
- more aggressive multiprocessing support
- new sharpening filter that has more controls than most sharpen filters
- new “bloom” setting in our Gaussian filter, to better preserve highlights
- smart rectangle processing in AE 7 or later
Of course there are many other “old” features still available. See https://www.revisionfx.com/products/smoothkit/features/
Pricing? $119.95. $39.95 to upgrade from version 1 (users who purchased since December 1, 2007 will get the upgrade for free).
