Smoothing out somewhat shakey footage with Sony Vegas
I wrote and asked for help on this topic about 4 years ago and was told that Vegas has no tool to deal with camera shake. I wanted to revisit it again just in case new improvements or versions of Vegas (I use pro Version 8) are helpful.
Naturally I have used the stretch feature on the clips to help somewhat but this is footage of live parrots. Since they naturally are robust and move quickly I cannot slow down the footage very much at all. Perhaps De-shaker is the only tool available but I understand that the sharpness of the image is lost somewhat with this tool. Can anyone update me on what is available in 2009?

Don, there’s a new version of Deshaker (it’s still free).
proDAD’s Mercalli (paid) gets good reviews from Vegas users.
