I’m trying to do a speed ramp at certain points in a one-take clip. What is the smoothest/best way to achieve this effect?
Looking for any tricks/tips to make this look good…
    Thanks ahead of time.

The Time Remap tool is your only choice within FCP. There are no tips and tricks other than to avoid using it and go to another application like After Effects. FCP’s slow motion, especially using DV material, totally blows. We’ve been screaming about it for years, it seems no one cares.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

there are a few plugins out there that give better slowmo with the ability to ramp speed, but I find they are clunky to work with in FCP.

And as far as I know, none of them has the ability to do a reverse pulldown when dealing with 24p footage in a 29.97 timeline. This makes 24p footage a big pain to slow down in FCP.
