Hello, I have a four second clip that I am trying to apply the Smooth Cam filter to, but when ever I apply the filter, the analyze window appears for a brief second, then disappears leaving the clip un-analyzed. I have tried deleting the filter and re-applying it. I have tried restarting both the computer and FCP, all without any results. Does anyone know what might be happening here and how to fix the problem? I am working with FCP 6.0.4 on a 2.6GHz Core Duo Macbook Pro with 4GB RAM. The clip is a four second SD-DV Clip. Thank you!

Try going in to your capture scratch and find the movie file. Next to it, you should find another file that is named the same as your media but it has an extension of mtdf, that is the analyze file. Delete that file and try analyizing again.

    Hi Adam,

What did you ever do to fix your smoothcam problem? I have exactly the same thing happening to me, and have been through the users guide backwards and forwards and have successfully used the filter in the past.

    Thanks, Bret

    Brett-
I followed Jeremy’s instructions from above. I also repaired permissions using Disk Utility, and rebooted the computer. Not sure which of the fixes I tried worked, but things seemed to work fine afterwards. I know this was a while ago but I haven’t had the same issue again so far… fingers crossed. Hope you can get it working.
