I have a scene where a guy is running down a hallway. My job is to make fire/smoke trail behind him. Found a decent (kinda) preset smoke setting called “Cartoon Smoke Trail” and keyframed the motion down the hallway. All is good except the particles that trail behind POP off and on. I am looking for some control over particle fade or death rate or something that would let the particles fade out nicely over time. Just can’t find that majic slider…any advice?

In the particle inspector go down to the Color Mode. Change to “Over Life” then add a second opacity stop at the right end on the top (opacity white) bar. Change the new stop to 0% opacity and adjust the middle bias control to adjust the speed off the fade out.

Thank you. This did the trick. Not as intuitive as I would hope for an Apple product, but “whatever works”.
Again, I appreciate the solution.
