    Hello!

I want to create a text effect similar to what you see in the start of the new movie The Illusionist.
You can see that there is something there, but not really what, then it slowly transforms into a text “directed by George Bush” You get the idea..

    How can I accomplish this?

Ok, I didn`t get any answers, but I tried a bit for myself. This is what I came up with, not so happy about it. I will tweak it a bit more.

What were the steps/plugins you used to produce that effect on the text?

I used turbulent displace, glow, blur, and opacity to make that effect. Two turbulent displace, one for the big displacement, and one for the smaller displacement. You can watch my final render here:

got it to open, but not to play…what codec is it?
Also i noticed it looks like the light is affecting it, how’s that happening. Any chance I could take a peek at the project file? 🙂
