    Hello fellow Motion People,
I have a Problem Ive been trying to wrap my head around,
and I can´t quite figure out whats going on so I am turning to
your collective expertise and knowledge 🙂

I have an Asset that has red text elements on a white background in After Effects,
and in the preview screen it is displayed as it should. Once i render however, it gets this weird ever so small dark red line emboss. I´ve tried different render settings, h264, mov with apple prores, avi with no compression, it always has the emboss. Tried different color management modes as well as no color management, the problem persists.
If i render a jpg however it doesn´t show up?

Maybe you guys know whats going on, please help 😓

What you’re seeing is a compression artifact — and I think it’s specifically caused by chroma subsampling. Unfortunately, that makes this fringing unavoidable with nearly all video delivery formats.

You’ll find that rendering to ProRes 4444 will not show this artifact, but by the time the video reaches your viewers, it will inevitably be compressed to another format and exhibit this exact behavior.
