Small conversion size of hd rgb+alpha channel video?
Hello technical wizards,
Hey so I am running AE CS3 and I am working with a video that is 1440×1080 and I am masking the video to get a transparent layer behind my figure when I put it into fcp. However, I only seem capable of doing this when I export as rgb+alpha and I can only do that when I use no compression or animation compression when exporting. Both of these turn the 5 sec files into 300+ mb size file which is just too much for my comp to handle if I am working with like 50+ files.
so my question is if there is some other way I can get around this through a different conversion? and if not I am curious as to why?

I understand that the HD 1440×1080 files are going to be big I just found it to be extensive. I guess I just personally found it weird the file I am using is only 14mb hdv compressed video and then the exported one is 400mb. Do you know why when the conversion happens it makes it so dramatically bigger? Does it save in some sort of layered format or such?
I mean I figured yesterday there probably wasn’t any other way around the issue and I can get away with sd.
