    Hi Guys,
A friend recently sent me an 8 minute HD file in the following codec HDV Quicktime H.264.
Looks good on my timeline, but plays very sluggishly.
My computer is a MacBook Pro, I do have FCP Studio 2, and extra Ram on the computer.
Is there a better codec I should export this movie as so I can look at a little easier?
I tried dragging it into Quicktime, but it becomes an incredibly LARGE and SLOW
movie, filling the entire 17 inch screen!
The info on the file are as follows: Format: H.264, (1920×1080) FPS: 29.97 Data Rate 65.23
    Thanks for any suggestions.

[Joseph Colombatto] “in the following codec HDV Quicktime H.264”

    HDV isn’t H.264. HDV is MPEG-2.

H.264 is not an editing codec. You need to convert it to ProRes or DVCPRO HD.
