I have noticed a recent huge decrease in output speed from FCP 7.0.3 to compressor. Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. I updated Snow Leopard with last week’s release which was around 800+MB. I’m wondering if that had something to do with it.

I went from exporting Pro Res LT sequences around 3mins in length that took about 6 mins to export through compressor now they take about 50 min. if they make it all the way through the compression.

The Sequences have been getting close to the end and then fail without any error code or anything.
the same sequences before the Snow Leopard update exported no problem. The only change I made to my system was the update on Snow Leopard.

If I export out of Quicktime from FCP not using Conversions it’s close to real time export speed.

I’ve been using compressor because of the color shifts out of quicktime.

    I’m using a 17″ i7 MBP 2.66

    Thanks for your time.

Im guessing your using the send to compressor option in FCP. Thats NOT the best way to go to compressor.

Export using current settings then take that file into Compressor.

    Thanks for the reply.
That’s been my work around however the queue function for multiple outputs from compressor is pretty helpful. I’m just confused as to why it used to work without a hitch.

Thanks again. And yes 1080p projects.
