    Hi all,

I’m shooting a music video with the cliche slow motion effect. There is no need for lip synching because the musicians aren’t in the band.

Am i right in thinking that i should shoot 50fps (PAL) and then slow the video down 50%? (i’m happy with 50% motion)

Do i use a timeline of 50fps or do i need to convert footage down to 24fps?

I guess just initally i’m wondering should i definitely shoot 50fps?

Better, shoot p50 and conform (CinemaTools) to p25.
You get a perfect 50% slow down and without reprocessing the picture.
    Just a click.

Are you going to speed up the on set song playback to 200% so they move to the beat or is there no correlation to the music at all?

No correlation really, it’s literally just a guy walking down the street with the song playing to it!

Ok so i’ve got the footage, i know how to conform but just a question:

I usually shoot 23.98fps and edit with the same timeline setting (obviosuly!)

What should i do now? conform to 23.98 and edit that or keep it to 25fps?

Obviously the footage will be registered as 50fps when i import to to fcp, do i set my sequence setting to 50fps or to the frame rate i’m conforming to?

    Russ
