Slow Motion Clips Losing Audio Sync
I’ve been killing myself on this all day…can’t find a solution.
Software: Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
Footage: 1280×720 60p from a T2i (H.264)
Audio: Straight from the camera at 48000 Hz – 16 bit – stereoI’ve got a 3 minute clip that I’m slowing down to 50% in several places. Regular speed – slow – regular – slow…etc.
The clip is 60p, but I’ve placed it in a 30p sequence with frame blending turned off.
I’m using time remapping in Premiere to change the speed. All the speed changes are hard changes from 100% to 50% over one frame, no ramping.
For the audio, I’m cutting it into clips at the same time that I mark my keyframes, then I change the audio speed to 50% for that clip. It lines up and plays exactly as I want it to in my timeline.
Once I export (doesn’t matter how…I’ve exported a hundred times today with various settings), the audio is always a second or so off track during the slow motion portions.
1) Is the problem with the h.264 footage? I’m editing it natively in CS4. (I’ve also converted to I-frame m2v before using time remapping, but I got the same result)
2) Is the problem with the audio?
3) Is the problem with Premiere’s time remapping or speed change function?
Thanks for any help,
