    Hi,

This is a continuation of my post that is now a little buried in the threads :
    https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/1118518

Here is a screencap video of the launch splash screen to show you guys where and when the launch is happening:

    https://reels.creativecow.net/film/fcp-splashscreen-slow-startup

It was suggested I delete the Boris Plugins – but when I deleted them [ie, archived and moved them to a different folder] & rebooted, FCP still seemed to reference the files [!] – and it still hangs.
Is there a cleaner way to delete those plugins?

Also, when FCP launches, it causes Firefox to freeze up – which is strange considering this doesn’t happen on my little MacBook Pro

    I’m on an 8-Core Mac Pro, 6GB RAM, FCP 7.0.3, 10.6.4

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

Well, it is definitely hitting the Boris Cartooner and slowing down. So it is a Boris thing. And obviously you didn’t get the plugins, as they are still loading. Boris have a support site where you can ask how to uninstall?

A brief update for all of you keeping score.

I deleted every single purchased Boris plugin and finally, FCP is smooth as butter.

I have no idea what is up with those plugins that act like Kryptonite on my machine.

    The only downside?
I’m going to want to use the very good BCC Chroma Key plug-in at some stage. When I reloaded it turned the startup to FCP, so if anyone knows how I can get this FxPlug to play nice with the rest of my system it would be a great help [Boris support have not been too helpful].

    Thanks,
    Wayne
