  Slow downs and freeze’s

  I am using FCP 5 HD studio pack with a Dual 2.5G G5 (2G DDRS) and Black Magic HD card. The external storage is a Huge Dual Max 1.6TB SCSI raid 0 through an ATTO ULD4.
  We are experiencing constant slow downs and freeze crash’s. I am aware of the RAM distribution problems with OSX 10.4, but have noticed that when ever FCP gets sluggish, the OSX system Activity monitor shows that “Compressord” (that’s how it is spelt) is highlighted red and not active.
  Does anyone know how, or, if this is affecting the system, and how to deal with it. Most of the FCP crash’s and slow downs seem to happen whenever we alter the GUI by changing window sizes.
