Slo-motion effect in music videos and commercials
I’ve been seeing a neat effect in commercials and music videos and I was wondering if this is done with computer programs like Premiere or it was just filmed that way? The effect is slow motion and it’s not your average slo-mo effect. I do know how to change the speed of a clip to make it slower or faster, but it doesn’t turn the clip into the effect I’ve been seeing on TV.
This slo-mo effect is used in so many music videos I cant even begin to tell you how many I’ve seen. The clip runs in normal speed and them it converts into slow motion, but the slo-mo is very fluid, smooth and crisp. Has anybody seen the effects I’m trying to describe here? Perhaps it was just filmed that way by varying the speed of the film threw the camera, but I’m almost certain this is a post-production computer effect.
Is this is an effect in Premiere, would it be an after effect or plug-in effect? If this effect can’t be done with Premiere, what program might you suggest I try? Thanks
