  • Slightly Jerky Scrolling Photos Video—How to Output it to Play Smoothly?

I have a 17 second sequence of scrolling (R-L) photos that play with a slight infrequent jerkiness.
I am using FCP 7, on a MacPro with 2 x 2.8 Quad-Core Intel processors; 8 GB 800MHz memory; Lion 10.7.5. I am storing data on a Wiebetech Raid external drive system connected with a eSata cable.

I have output it using Compressor in Quicktime with Codecs: Apple ProRea 422 (HQ) Linear PCM
I have also added it to an After Effects project and output it with the same settings (Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) and I still have the same problem.
In both cases the .MOV video is about 456 MB, so not very large at all to slow things down.
What do I need to look at to get a smooth flowing sequence of scrolling photos?

Thanks Dave. I’ve never heard of this judder.
What I get from your suggestion is I should try something like this:

slow down the rate of the scrolling photo sequence, output it and then speed it back up in a new timeline so I maintain the same time length—vis versa—or something like that.
I tried creating it in Adobe After Effects too and I still have the same problem.
I can test it with an existing sequence or .MOV file by speeding/slowing it down.
