    Hello again!

Working on a 2 x 2.66 dual core intel, 4gb Ram, 7300 Graphics Card, LHe.

USing FCP7/FCS3 on Leapard, 10.5.8 and here is waht happens:

    I have a project I made on FCS2, which I have updated to FCS3.

Its XDCAM EX media @ 720p, but i am using ProRes422 as my render and export codec.

In order to edit some chromakeys, I open up motion clips (.motn) from my timelines using “open in editor”. Then i make all the necessary adjustments in mOtion and save the project. In some cases I export a ProRes422 QT as well. I close motion, and return to FCP.

When I click anywhere in FCP, bringing it to forground/makeing it active. I get the wristwatch icon, the motion clip goes offline, then gets reconnected. (i have the preference set to always reconnect)

THEN COMES THE BADNESS: I get a beachball, and everything locks up, FCP, the finder, wahtever. only the cursor moves. I cant force quit cuz the finder wont respond.

Sometimes I get the finder to come up, but only with all the windows badly draen having this “hash” around em, like errors and bad shadoews.

so I am thinking my graphics card is at fault here, and so i am getting an ATI card tomorow so i will see.

Does this sound like a graphics card issue to anyone? I know the 7300 is the bottom of the line for my machine, and the ATI is the middle, so I hope thi will fix things.

    any thoughts?

    thanx for your attention
