  • Slight Bluring of Still Images

I have imported a few still images into the timeline of PPR CS3 and actually notice for the first time that when the CTI is moved to one of the images, the detail in the monitor window seems normal, but when the clip is played, the details in the image blurs noticably. I have made certain that none is selected in the field options. Applying any blending or other options that are possible only makes the bluriness worse. Images are imported as 1:1 pixel ratio since that is the native format of each and there are no modification to the motion effects such as scale or postion.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this bluring effect and is in indication of the change is sharpness when rendered?

    Thanks!!

Change your playback settings to highest quality. Keep in mind that the preview window won’t show you a true rendering either way.

    Thanks Vince,

I was thinking the prview mode could be the primary isue but I did check the playback settings and found them to be in the standard mode. I chnage to accelerated (I have a 256Mb Nivida GS7900 GS card)which made playback even worse by far and that was surprising indeed! Possibly there is some other issue at work here.

    Thanks for the input.

    John,

The setting I am reffering to is in the first menu you see while clicking the small arrow on the top right of the preview window. In CS2/CS3, you will have the option of Highest / Draft / automatic quality. You would want highest, although in slower machines you may see skipped frames.
