Hello again, I recently put a post up asking how to transition my still images with a selected beat from a song. I received a response (thank you) but I have tried over and over again in different sequences of action to get it to work and i am not having any success. I import the song to the timeline, play it and start tapping the asterick key on the numeric pad to set my markers. then i import the folder with the images on it and click on the automate to sequence and choose it to be on un-numbered markers and go. still nothing.. PLEASE HELP…

also I would like to know how to make the photo viewing area be the entire picture rather than just the center portion. I have gone to edit > preferences > general and looked for the check box that says default scale to frame size as i saw on a podcast. but i do not have that little check box in the general preferences menu. PLEASE HELP.

Im sorry for asking what is probably a basic question but i am brand new to premiere pro and am begging for some advise and assistance. thank you all who read this and i look forward to hopefully figuring this out soon. all help is greatly appreciated. thank you!!!!

Must be version 1. I imagine these features weren’t incorporated when this version came out (five years ago).

what sequence of actions do you have to do it it for it to work.. for example, import song, set markers, import pictures. or another sequence etc..

What I’d do is find out musically how long you want each image to be by putting the music and just a couple of clips on the timeline and manually determining the appropriate duration for an individual image (duration is displayed in the info window for selected clips).

Then I would set this as my default still duration in prefs/general. Then I would storyboard (arrange) the images in the proper order in the bin, and drag them en-masse to the timeline. You will have to tweak durations, since the cuts are only approximately timed to the beats at this point. Use the left arrow tool (ripple tool) to move clips into sync with the minimum number of adjustments.

On some music, the rhythm (beats) can be seen in the waveform, and that can help getting everything in sync.

Then you can quickly place dissolves between clips by using the “page down” hotkey (that jumps from cut to cut) and the “ctrl-D” hotkey combo to add a default (dissolve) transition between each image.
