can anyone tell me an easy way to “slice up” an image into many separate parts – having each piece then occupy its own layer? I want to animate an exploding effect on an object or person in a still photo. In PSD 7 I will have to divide the pic (preferably in a random fashion to about 20 or 30 pieces – or shards) Once in motion, I’m applying the “random” and “throw” behaviors to make the different layers disperse in a kind of explosion. One of the obstacles for me has been keeping the different layers perfectly aligned in PSD…with the selection tools – the copy and paste command does not put the piece directly bellow. I had to make multiple copies of the original image and then erase different areas on different layers. “oh bother.” Anyone have a better way of going about this? please help…
