  • Skipping (like Fast Forward) sound while recording audio to Veg6.0

    Hello everybody!

Just bought a shiny new PC (Athlon 3500+64) and EMU 1212m soundcard, and, of course Vegas 6.

Video working brilliant, but I’m having problems with audio:

When triying to recording (even when playing in some cases) , the timeline going mad and there’s skipping sound occurs, like FWD on CD player. Seems like audio rushing 1,5 times faster than normal.

I having SATA disk for video/audio only, 1GB of RAM, virtual memory off.

I decreased/increased buffer time from 2 ms to 500 ms in step of 10 but nothing happend.

This problem occures with no connection to video material -whether is video present in the project or not.

Weird – so much pover (runing non-compressed AVI with no fuss, but that audio…) and that problem with audio….:( 🙁

assuming those changes were made in Vegas prefs, you should also look at buffer times in your sound card driver.

Yes, if I had that choice… of course, then I would change that.

But control panel of EMU 1212m didn’t having it…

    Thanks. Any other suggestion…?

OK, I’m out of good ideas… sample rate mismatches? Will the emu do the sample rate you want?

    Dead card?

Can you record anything with this card with another app?

Recording in Cubase SX works perfect. (latency is about 6 MS…)

I told you… hardware req’s are “by the book” for Vegas, but that audio / ASIO problem drives me mad…

Sounds like you’re still experiencing this problem. Have you looked for updated drivers for your emu sound card? In regards to “timeline going mad”, not too sure what that means, but a reinstall of vegas may be in order.

Sorry I can’t offer help specific to your issues.
