Sketch and toon lines
Posted by Gopal Reghunath on February 8, 2011 at 10:52 amIs it possible with the sketch and toon module to get only the wireframe of a model in rough sketch lines? And can I get it with alpha?

February 9, 2011 at 12:48 amRough sketch lines yes, what do you mean by alpha? Alpha in the scene or are you going to add it to something in post?

February 9, 2011 at 4:34 amYeah im taking it to post. As I want to combine it with other motion graphics. So I want only the rough sketch lines preferably along with an alpha channel of it.

February 9, 2011 at 7:44 pmit’s possible, just put a material on your object that is pure alpha, set your S&T settings as you like but set Shading/Background and Object to Off. Oh yeah, enable Alpha Channel in the Render Settings too…

February 10, 2011 at 4:09 pmThis makes an alpha that works. It works with QT Animation codec set to Millions of Colors + or if you prefer an image sequence, TIFF, PSD etc…

February 11, 2011 at 4:58 amThank you so much Brian.
Is this done in C4D R12? Beacause it says that it is unknown file format for me. I have 11.5 Damn. -

February 11, 2011 at 5:16 pmYeah, that’s R12, here’s more or less the same thing in 10.5 format (I never had 11). This is done the same as the R12 file. An alpha material on the object (a sphere) and in the S&T Effect Render Settings/Mode set to Include and the sphere added there but it can also be done with a Sketch Style tag on the sphere instead.
