Sketch and Toon car, not reflecting Sky Object
Posted by Jake Nelson-dooley on August 4, 2011 at 4:19 pmMaybe this is a limitation of Sketch and Toon, but all the nice looking reflections on the body of the car disappear with I apply S&T. Anyone else run into this?
Thanks,

August 4, 2011 at 4:50 pmYou can turn off the S&T shading for objects and backgrounds in Render Settings/Sketch and Toon/Shading by setting Object and or Backgounds to Off. If you turned those off the only thing you are left with is the Lines (plus whatever the objects and background look like without S&T)

August 4, 2011 at 6:28 pmThanks Brian. I probably will do that… though I was hoping Sketch and Toom would “cell shade” the reflections.

August 4, 2011 at 6:56 pmS&T will quantize textures so you could Bake the reflections and use that instead of real reflections. How complex that would be would depend on the construction of the car (and if you are doing a still or animation)

August 4, 2011 at 8:05 pmYou can also turn off sketch shading and use one of the sketch channel shaders in conjunction with reflection.

September 6, 2012 at 12:52 amAlternatively, you can exclude objects from sketch and toon under its options in the >render >settings tab. This wont get the cell shaded reflections you’re looking for, but I thought this might be helpful to others who stumble onto the thread.
