  • Simulating water over the sand? How to?

I am putting a DVD menu together on a vacation and I want to have a simulated background (animated) of water/waves on the shore – so it would be like water over the sand and then moves back out and then water rushes in over the sand and back out…if that makes sense. It is going to be from a top down view, like someone looking at their toes on the beach…any ideas?

    Easier to shoot it.
Open WaveWorld to create your simulation using the floor and dry settings. Apply the rendered grayscale movie to Colorama and add Caustics. Create the sand with a photo or generous investment of time in the Noise generation systems. AE is not really a simulation system for this kind of stuff unless you can tolerate the time to get it right or the inescapable stylization of AE’s simulations.

Honestly: “Shoot it or buy it.”

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
