  • Simulating planets around sun – having 2.5D trouble.

The planets are basically circles. The Sun is also a circle with the sphere filter on it because I used a rectangular image of the sun; animating the revolutions using the sphere filter position properties.

I have the planets (circles) on a circular motion path, rotated 90 degrees so the circular path is on a horizontal plane.

I just can’t figure out how to get the planets to “disappear behind the sun. My circular motion path is larger than the sun sphere.

I’ved toyed around with the z parameter of the different object groups with no luck yet.

    Any advice?

Lol – figured it out. Never the less if anyone has insight into this, it’d still help.

I suppose I should have just used Blender to “really” do it right.

    What was your solution, BTW?
