Posted by Tom John on April 9, 2005 at 8:43 am

    Hi, all,

I have a client logo as a (single-layer) white on black tiff. Can anyone tell me how to tell Photoshop to convert the black portion to transparent with an alpha so that I may add beveled edges to the logo?

    Many thanks!

Select the black (color range.. wand)
    Delete it
    Apply Bevel to Logo
    Load Logo layer
    SAve Selection as alpha

Search posts for alpha and you will find more detail
