    Hi
    Can someone point me to a tutorial for creating simple chrome treatment of type?
    Is it possible to create something ‘photo realistic’ without use of 3d raytracing?

    You can easily do that with FreeForm Pro or better with Shapeshifter. Contact Chris Bobotis at mettle.com see if he can give you a trial version of the beta to check it out.

    Thanks Chris. With Shapeshifter and Elements soon to be released, a number of options it seems to simulate true raytracing from within AE.
