Our church is wanting to offer edited (abbreviated) version of the Sunday sermon for small groups that will meet the same week. The plan is to be able to hand out DVDs the next day. And actually they want to offer a QT web movie online later the same day.

So, at this point, we only use one camera to record the sermon. Got a Mac G4 dual 450 running FCP 4.5HD. We currently use a firewire DVD recorder to record the sermon, so I’m thinking we’ll need to find a solution to allow us to loop the video through the deck and to our edit system. I was wondering if there was a simple cheap firewire card that had a loop through feature that could go back to the DVD recorder?

Any suggestions, or better ideas? I’d like to be able to capture directly into the Mac and use “markers” to make pre-edit decisions and such. The goal is to streamline and keep things as simple and quick as possible.

Hope that wasn’t too much information. Guess I’m thinking this through as I type.

    Thanks in advance.
