    Hello Creative Cow forum!

I’ve lurked a bit on here. I thought I had an account, but now I definitely do.

So I use Final Cut Pro at work. And the program seems determined to sabotage me.

Is there any way to get the program to load project settings? Each time I load a project all the settings that matter stay the same as whatever I set them to last time. If I have a DV project, but then create a new project and change everything to 10-bit uncompressed, going back to the DV project the settings stay on 10-bit uncompressed.

To make matters infinitely more complicated it seems the scratch disks have to be reset EVERY TIME you open a project?

This has resulted in numerous projects capturing video to the wrong location. It’s a pain to have to switch A/V settings AND system settings each and every time you open a project.

We also use Adobe Premiere and it keeps projects all together in a single tidy folder…

I’m also an audio engineer and this seems the pinnacle of dis-organization to me. Is there no box to enable “per project folders” or something of that nature? Surely I’m doing something wrong?

    Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Wesley

You need Preference Manager from DigitalRebellion.com at https://www.digitalrebellion.com/pref_man.htm.

I am presently working on two projects now, one is HD and the other SD. They display on different monitors with different settings and use different media drives and each uses different effects I’ve stored as favorites. One click on a saved pref changes all that and a whole lot more.
