So, is there any way – other than green screen or blue screen – that i can shoot a subject who will remain in one place, interview style, and black that subject out? i should say besides rotoscoping and blacking the mask out as well…really am looking for a lazy way to do this. i just need some expertise to confirm my hopes or fears…thanks in advance!

If ya wanna be lazy, maybe duplicate the layer and apply some extreme color correction the man. Then do a feathered mask so that the background stays well lit?

If the camera is going to be locked down, you might get away with using a clean shot of the set (with no actors), then use a difference matte. This “should” leave you with just your actor/s, ready for processing to suit your needs. This won’t work if your lighting is variable in any way (color, intensity, etc.).

    Hey this works?
This is what ULTRA does to do its magic chroma without blue/green screen???

    I have to try this…

    No, doesn’t really work 🙂
At least not without super-quality media which I can’t test for right now.
