  • Sigma Zoom lens for XL2 aperture question

I’m thinking of buying a Sigma (Nikon too expensive and Sigma top range just as good) zoom lens to put on Canon XL2. I have a Nikon mount, which enables me to put Nikon stills photographic lenses on XL2.

I’m in two minds as two which one to get. Both are 100-300 zoom lenses, only one is F2.8, the other F4, the latter is half the price. Due to the fact that the effective focal length is increased by 6.7x, will I need the extra F-stop or should I just go for the F4 version?

How will you be using the 670-2010?

Wildlife videography. Filming Osprays from 600 meters away for example.
