  • Shrotcut key to scale composition window to fit?

    Hi there everyone,

I’ve searched the manual top to bottom but can’t seem to find if there’s a shortcut key to fit the composition window. I’m always having to do it by mouse and it annoys the hell out of me.

Does anyone know if there is one?

    Thanks guys.

If you’re using AE7, the / (forward slash) key is your friend. By itself it zooms to 100%. Add shift and it zooms to fit the size of the comp window. Use Alt instead and it zooms to fit or 100%, whichever is larger.

I found these while rooting about in the AE shortcuts file. Always a fun time.
    C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\7.0\Adobe After Effects 7.0 Shortcuts.txt

If you’re on an older version of AE, try using the zoom shortcuts (comma, period, and forward slash) in combination with the Comp window sizing shortcuts (CTRL with – and +). Between the two sets you should get what you want.

Hmmmm… the Cow’s forum system seemed to clip out small part of my post.

    The correct file path is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\7.0\Adobe After Effects 7.0
