Just installed a Xserve RAID 7x500gb on 1 channel as RAID 5

Shouldn’t we be able to capture Uncompressed SD?? the system is dropping frames.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

have you run a disk speed test?

    what are the results.

is this a 2gb fibre or 4gb fibre setup?

There’s something very wrong. you should be able to capture SD no problems with 1 LUN of 7 disks.

Is this an XRAID straight into a G5? No SAN, anything like that? How did you format the raid – with the xraid utility or disk ultility?

It can take a long time to build the raid – mine took over 24 hours. The throughput increases a lot when the build is finished.
