Should be simple: Western Digital 6TB My Book World Edition II External Hard Drive on multiple computers?
Ok so here’s the deal, as a company Im trying to provide us with some cheap backup solution which can be accessed by 3 macs. The backup is one of these: Western Digital 6TB My Book World Edition II External Hard Drive (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/761694-REG/Western_Digital_WDH2NC60000N_6TB_My_Book_World.html).
The question is simply this: ho do I set it up so all 3 computers can access it? The catch is this: we’d rather not do it wirelessly because it’s slower, and the way we’re wired into the internet is a little different to normal- our cables go down to a coms room where there’s a patch. What Im saying is I dont think its as simple as plugging it into a router…and we also want it in the same room as the computers if possible. Two of them are Mac Pros, one is a mid 2010 iMac 27″.

turn on File Sharing. Under Volumes, select your 6TB My Book.
