What;s a group? If it’s a bunch of clips in the timeline, select the clips and drag the folder onto them.

    All the best,

Hey Tom, thank you for taking the time to post back. I wasn’t clear. What I meant was how can I apply a group of filters (in a folder) to a clip in the timeline. Sorry for the confusion.

    Best,

    Kevin

Open folder, select all filters, drag and drop to clip or pre selected clips.

The filters will apply in the same order that they are in the folder, so make sure the order is right, This can be done by renaming the filters so they sort alphabetically. You can add a 1,2,3 to the beginning of the names to do this.

When I grade in FCP I have lots of grade folders set up to do the drag & drop

The method I recommend is to apply a filter set (including settings) to a Text generator. You can type some notes into the text field as an mnemonic.
Then just select the generator in the browser copy and ‘Paste Attributes’ to the clips.
Another advantage of this method is that you just can save the generators as XML which can be imported into every project on any machine (as long as the filters are available)

    That hasn’t answered the question.

Is there a shortcut to apply a folder (full of filters) to clips

Thank you Tom, Michael and Andreas, these are awesome tips. Love the text generator trick. What i was trying to accomplish also was getting past the drag and drop action and being able to hotkey select folders to spped up the process of adding filters. Any thoughts?

Thanks again for all the great and prompt feedback.

    Warmest.

Tricky. A shortcut might be able to select filters in a folder, but how would it know the clips to apply it to? If you manually pre select the clips, then it takes very little time to do the drag/ drop or paste attributes, so what is the advantage?
