I’m in post production on my 10-minute short film. Picture is about to be locked and I’ll move into audio editing and mixing.

As of now, I have the production audio synced in the timeline. Some locations were noisier than others and I used a boom mic and lavs, so there will need to be some noise reduction. I’m not quite sure what the best approach is from here. Here’s kind of what I’m thinking, but I’d like any feedback on this process.

    1. Isolate each line of dialogue – basically cutting at the beginning and end of every line (or should I not cut out every individual line)

    2. Do necessary noise reduction and EQ on individual clips (mostly likely to be done with round-tripping in Soundtrack Pro)

    3. Add ambient noise to each scene

    4. Add sound effects

    5. Audio mix
