I will be shooting a airshow in a couple week with my new Canon Vixia GX and I want to record it in 4K but should I set the frame rate at 59.94 or 29.97? I am just a Hobbies still learning.

Shoot at 29.97fps. Very few modern TVs can display frame rates higher than 30fps. If you want to try 59.94fps, test it before the air show. Be prepared to use lots of memory cards and battery power at the higher frame rate.

29.97i? or P? you can get smooth motion with ‘i’ with low data rates compared to 59.94 p. Both should look the same on an interlaced display. Your final destination will decide how you record. web likes progressive.

Avoid 4k 60fps in favor of 30 fps if you are posting to youtube. Most ISPs limit streaming bandwidth (regardless of purchased speed) so most users will have dropped frames – choppy playback. That will ruin your gorgeous footage.
