    Shooting 1080 60i: video tears. Why?

    I’ve been using this camera (HVX200) since ’06 and should know the answer to this question- but so far that answer eludes me.

    I shot DVCPROHD 1080 60i. Action coming at the camera looks great. Action running across the frame (left to right or right to left) tends to tear at the edges. That’s the only way I can think of to describe the problem. We’re not talking about high speed action either. Simply walking through the frame can cause the issue.

    OIS was off. Shutter was off. Recording setup was 1080 60i. Scene file showed frame rate at default. Set to video cam. Shot in daylight with plenty of light on the action.

    Any suggestions as to the problem and more importantly the remedy so it doesn’t happen again?

    You need some shutter to help with action.
    set it to 120 next time.
